自噬（Autophagy）是調節真核細胞生長、死亡和能量代謝的重要生物學機制。細胞自噬行使其生物學功能的前提是自噬流（Autophagic Flux）的活化。大量證據表明自噬流受損與多種慢性炎性疾病，特別是腫瘤、神經退行性疾病及組織纖維化的發病密切相關，目前對于自噬流的檢測是自噬與其相關疾病研究領域的熱點。
CYTO-ID Autophagy Detection Kit 2.0 使用新型染料檢測自噬小泡和監控活細胞自噬流，選擇性標記積累的自噬小泡。染料已通過優化，不染溶酶體，在自噬前體、自噬體和自噬溶酶體里呈現出明亮的熒光。該試劑盒提供了一種無需細胞轉染，可以在活細胞中監控細胞自噬的快速定量方法。
CYTO-ID自噬檢測試劑盒2. 0原理：
該產品所用探針是陽離子兩親性示蹤劑（CAT）染料，以類似誘導磷脂藥物的方式迅速進入到細胞中。染料的功能基團能夠選擇性標記與自噬通路相關的小泡，而不會在溶酶體中聚集。胞內物質被擴大的膜囊包裹，吞噬泡形成雙層膜囊泡，成為自噬體。自噬體外膜隨后與溶酶體融合，和內部物質被自噬性溶酶體降解。
