Potent, irreversible, highly specific inhibitor of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs), N-terminally labelled with 5-carboxytetramethylrhodamine (TAMRA).
Acts as a DUB active site specific probe facilitating detection of DUBs in biological samples..Utility in the stabilisation of ubiquitin conjugates in cell lysates and tissue extracts and as a control inhibitor for the testing and characterisation of potential DUB activity modulators. Exhibits differential specificity compared to other similar DUB probes.
TAMRA-Ub-VME probe allows detection of DUB labeling by in-gel fluorescence. This direct and more sensitive read-out gives more distinct labelling paterns than can be achieved by immunoblotting. In addition, use of TAMRA-Ub-VME removes the potential for cross-reactivity of antibodies that can lead to background labeling.
