Cell permeable geldanamycin analogue. Less toxic, more stable than geldanamycin. Inhibits Hsp90 by binding to its ATP site leading to inhibition of its chaperone activity. Hsp90 inhibition leads to autophagy activation resulting in the degradation of substrates such as the NFkB pathway activator IKK.
