- Cholesterol, is an organic molecule, a sterol (or modified steroid), a type of lipid molecule, and is biosynthesized by all animal cells, in which it is an essential structural component of animal cell membranes that is required to maintain both membrane structural integrity and fluidity. Cholesterol enables animal cells to dispense with a cell wall, thereby allowing animal cells to change shape and animals to move. BioVision’s QuickDetect? fCHOL ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for measuring the quantity of mouse fCHOL in serum, plasma and cell culture and other biological fluid. The entire process can be performed within 90 minutes with only a single incubation and a wash step respectively, resulting in fewer handling steps, fewer errors and more consistent results.
